Default 2006 4.6 smoking when started

Finally got it under control. All the times it smoked when I started it. I had all the injectors changed to the new ford updated injector. Ford knew they had a problem with the old ones so they redesigned and put out a new one. It really runs like a new truck with 137k on it. I had no idea how bad it was running till i got the new injectors. It idles much smoother, has no hesitation at all when romping on it. Hell it even appears to shift different. The mileage has increased. Its just incredible...The change. I wish I had done this a long time ago.

What part numbers did you change to and where did you get them and how much?? I am not having any problems but any reasonable upgrade would be good. Did you change them yourself or have it done? How difficult if you did it yourself??

Don't mean to hijack the thread but since 4.6L owners will be reading this I wonder if any have a similar experience: It seems that when I get my oil changed within a short period of time I need to add a quart of oil. The service documents say that 6 quarts of oil are used, which is correct. After I add a quart it does not seem to use any oil, drove 500 hard fast miles yesterday and did not go down a bit!!! Any ideas, except that the service people did not use enough oil, although it did read full just after I got it back?

Did they put the updated ones on any years after 06? Or are all 04-08 4.6's equipped with the old ones?
