So from what it sounds like a guy should probably just breakdown and go with the POR-15 right off the bat? I'm assuming when you did the degreaser you had to wipe it off before going to the metal etch? Thanks again!

yes I would wire wheel off any loose rust then you spray degreaser on it then wash it then you spray the metal ready on let it sit for 20 min then rinse that off and put the por on and you will be set for the rest of the life of the truck. and fyi DONT get any on your skin if you do there is not a single thing that will take it off and it takes about 3-4 weeks to wear off. trust me you get asked what happens a lot in that time.

I'm going to do por 15 to my bed and cab but befor I do that I'm going to fix my cab corners and rockers then bedline the bottom of the bed and cab I may leave the frame with the gloss black por 15 rust paint

I bought a few cans of eastwood rust encapsulator hoping it works well. Just need to install it yet.

I spray mine with rattle can Rustoleum every year because nothing seems to hold up with the salt here in Mass.

Rustproofing every year and no rust on my 07 in Quebec.

last year I did some modification and need to grind clean some part of the frame: Coat them in ArmorCoat paint (like rustoleum) and it held great after 1 year.

Been fighting with the rust since I bought it a year ago... Wish i started right away rather than procrastinating. Got the cab corner / rocker bubbling out and popping, and just had to do some weld repair on the frame from a crack I opened up wire brushing along the bottom weld seam from all the salt just sittin there.

I'm going to be ripping the bed off soon and going to try to blow the pounds of dirt, salt and loose paint/steel scale out of the frame so I'm not painting loose debris when using the internal frame coater.
