4.6 2V motor?
Whats the differance in the mustang 2V and the 04-08 f150 2V motor?
Why can the mustang rev to 6000 rpm and the truck only to 5000 rpm what can i change or swap out to make this happen???? Would a PCM swap or do i need to do cam and spring work?? I mean even the 5.4 revs that high and its just a stroked 4.6 with 3V heads!!! Please help!!!!

From my experience with other motors, normally the heads, cam and intake are the major differences between car and truck motors of the same displacement.

cams and intake manifold are different, and a custom tune can let you rev as high as you want, im sure there are other differences but i cant think of them right now(nothing physically different just possibly stronger internals)
also the 05+ mustangs are 3v
also the 05+ mustangs are 3v

Np man just did want to confuse people or get off topic with the 3V motors. Now you said you are shifting @ 5500 do you have a 4.6?? And what programmer do you have and does it tell you how much timing your pulling at 5500??

Good question. Our trucks weigh much more than the Mustang. I think the Ford engineers "tuned" the engine around this factor to allow for engine longentivity and perhaps for more torque (towing) capability verses speed in the case of the Mustang.
No doubt one could modify the 4.6 Truck engine to match that of the 4.6 Mustang, but I'd think it would not last as long used in a truck.
