2005 Premium Sound Problems
I have a 2005 Lariat that came with the premium sound. The subwoofer just cracked and sounds like garbage so I went ahead and bought an aftermarket sub not knowing a darn thing about car audio. After plugging it in, the new sub is extremely quiet and I'm relatively sure it's not getting enough power. The new sub I bought is a Polk Audio AA3085-A MM840 DVC 8-Inch Subwoofer. Does this mean that I need an aftermarket amp? If so, will it just plug into the existing cable that hooked up my old amp? Or does anyone have an OEM sub for sale? Also, in the process of hooking in the new amp, I may have clipped the wires that run from the amp to the sub to get them to fit. Doh! Thanks guys, I'm a long time lurker and first time poster.
One more question, does anyone know the power that the OEM amp puts out?
