Default 2005 power window issues

I have replaced the 20 amp fuse and replaced the drivers side master power window switch & I still don't have power. The rear slider and the power door locks work fine. Thanks.

Check wires in the boot from door to chassis. Bet you find a couple broke in half.

I see the boot. How does it come off?

The window motors in these things go out often, especially with age. Not hard to replace yourself, YouTube video exists on how to do it...replaced my driver side, took hour tops...

Search for window motor on this site...

Pull plug at chassis and the pull boot out from the door side. Kinda a pain.

Yea as mentioned above check the wires inside the rubber boot in the door hinge area. They fatigue and break with all the door opening/closing cycles. I've seen it mostly happen on Fords.

I've had 2 wires break on me inside the boot and on each one I used a 3" (same gauge) wire and a couple of but connectors to join them back together. It took me a while to find the problem and also reconnect them but I'm willing to bet that's what it is.

if it is the wires it's a little tricky because there's not much room to work with but it only takes about 30 minutes (the proper way)

Can I cut the boot or is that taboo?

Can you share the 'proper way' with me? Thanks!
