Default 2005 f150 lariat without tilt steering?

Guys,
i need some help here.
i just bought a 2005 F150 super crew cab with the 5.4 engine.
AWESOME truck. it has the LARIAT package.
but the steering wheel does not tilt?

the only buttons/***** on this steering column is a hazard light button on top
and a turn signal/bright lights/wipers handle.

im not sure where the tilt mechanism is SUPPOSED to go on a f150, but there are 2 "CAPS" (one on each side) where a tilt mechanism usually goes.

the column itself "LOOKS" like it should tilt...
it is really annoying because the top of the wheel is right in the line of vision of the gauges for me when driving....
and i am not a large guy....i am 5'9 tall....guy any taller would be REALLY P.O.'D...lol

i find it hard to believe that the would make a vehicle today without tilt...especially one with the lariat package...

any help is appreciated....
im new here and glad i found it...i have been reading for a few days and there are alot of good people here with alot of knowledge...

thanks,
Dino

Tilt is standard in the Lariat, should be a lever on the bottom left side of the column, post up some pictures.

gatorb8,
thanks for the reply.

i went out to take pictures, and after looking at the owners manual (which i do not have, had to download one) i knew where the handle was "SUPPOSED" to be.

i unsnapped the cover right below the steering wheel, and couldnt see anything that looked out of place or missing.....

then i stuck my fingers under there and moved something....
obviously somebody went in to do something in there, unhooked the handle probably because it was in the way, and forgot to hook it back up.

it was alot bigger than i thought it would be, and surprised it didnt fall out on the floor, or rattle around or something.....

but i thank you for making me go take pictures, otherwise id still be trying to figure out why my steering wheel wont tilt...LOL

Not surprised. Mine falls out about every other month.

Haha yeah watsup with that? I've had my truck for about two weeks and it came out when I was driving the other day as I adjusted the wheel I went ahead and pulled it all the way out because I didn't feel too good about driving with it rattling around in there and now I cannot see where it should go back on at so i haven't been able to put it back on yet

Shortly after I bought my pickup mine fell off. It's easy to reattach, just slips on. Which is also why it falls off so easy. If it falls off again I'm going to put some high strength adhesive on the handle then slip it on.

mine just fell off too. I got it out but I'm wondering how to get it back into place. do you have to take the lower panel off to get it back in properly?

Yes, it's much easier if you do since you can see what you are doing.
