Default 2005 F150 - Chilton vs. Haynes Repair Manual?

I am looking to buy a repair manual to help me along as I do repairs on my 2005 F-150 Screw. I did a thread search and it seems like people usually recommend "Chiltons or Haynes" but with no strong preference.

I found each of them on RockAuto for ~$25 including shipping.

Any strong recommendations on which one to go with? Which has the most info/helpful diagrams, etc.

Thanks!

I got a Haynes manual. Got mine off the internet cheap. Do google search and you can find it cheaper on the net or eBay.

Buy the ford service manual on eBay. It can be had for 15 bucks or so. It's a disk full of pdf's you open on your computer.

I'd rather have the book, only because I wouldn't want to drop or damage my laptop and wouldn't want to get it greasy.

Same boat. I have all the manuals on my computer but I hate to have to print something out everytime I dig into my truck. Would rather just have the repair manual sitting on my tool box that I can drag under my truck with me when needed.

I have the Chilton's and think it's okay. There have been times when it seems like it skips some steps for someone who's never done that particular job before. Most times I think its been fine though.

Get the disk and get fedex office to print and bind you a manual. Chitons is a joke compared to the factory manuals.

Why go through all that, when you can just buy the Haynes book?

Haynes bought out Chilton's. They are, sadly, the same manual now. Chilton's used to be better.
