2005 F150 5.4l Triton V8 Shudder
So I've read a lot about the low-throttle shudder in these engines, and I'm not sure which issue applies to my truck.
The possible culprits I've read about are:
I'm curious if anyone can help me narrow down which one I'm having problems with specifically, or if it would be better to just start tackling all of them.
For me, there's an obvious shudder anytime my engine hits about 1,500-2,000 rpm, whether it's on the freeway and I need just a little extra gas and I give it a small amount of throttle, or I am trying to make a tight turn and having to give it a little extra gas than normal to get moving in the right direction. Anytime it gets in that rpm range without me tromping on the gas pedal there's a pretty bad shudder from the motor.
Any advice from the guru's out there? Is she safe to drive until I can get this fixed?

- Torque Converter Shudder
- Bad COPs
- Bad Spark Plug (faulty design/known issue)
- Air Box Foam Wear

Hey man, I have an 07 f150 and when i bought it used from the dealership i had that problem soon after. They ended up replacing a coil pack and it was fine. Two weeks later it did it again and i went back and they ended up replacing another one and like two plugs. I went back after it happened again and they replaced all of the plugs and coil packs. Luckily the dealership paid for the $1000+ in parts and labor. Once one goes out, all the rest are soon to follow unfortunately. And btw, my truck had 40,000 miles when this happened. Hopefully this will help you out
