Ok.. so I pulled the trigger and bought a 05 boss 5.4 today. I have a weird problem.. I have the door chime alarm going of for 5 sets of 5 dings randomly. There is no other visual sign with the chimes. its the same chime as the door open chime. I have the edge evo programmer but see nothing there. I did have the check engine light on.. and the code said too lean.. it needed a new gas cap, so i added that and we cleared the code at the shop

The PO knew about the chime but didnt know why it would happen
what could this chime be???

If your airbag light is out in the dash, or if your check engine light is out in the dash, it will chime like that. When you turn it on your truck with the key in the on position do those lights come on?

thanks.. its the airbag.. the light is not on and i found that section in the book.. is this a dealer-only thing to have checked out

Are you getting an airbag code flashing?

If its just the light is out then all you have to do is pull the cluster and replace the bulb.

Okay, pull the cluster, replace the bulb, your chimes will stop. Its just the vehicles way of letting you know that the bulb is out is all. It will do the same if your check engine light is out too.

Learned of this issue when we replaced my buddies heater core. He just deals with the beeping although it would drive me nuts.

is the bulb in the cluster and does it have to come apart or are the bulbs behind it and once the cluster is out of the way, the bulbs are there to be pulled out??
also.. bulb number?? wattage??
