trailer light blows fuse for the tail lights but the blinkers work what could be causing this

Does it do this on more than one trailer? Sounds like you got a hot wire getting grounded. I'd go to a parts store and you can buy a little keychain deal that plugs into your truck plug. It has a light for each function and will test your truck plug and that will let you know for sure if it's truck or trailer.
