Default 2005 4x2 F150 4r70w swap questions! Hlp Pls!

My 05 suddenly started slipping in 1st and 2nd. This happened completely out of the blue one day. Checked codes. P0731 and P0732. Says either shift pack or internal. Changed solenoid A/B pack, filter and 5 quarts with no luck. I've searched the internet with no luck coming up with an "easy" fix. So now I'm looking for a replacement transmission. Called the dealer with my VIN to verify my transmission because of lots of conflicting information on the internet and the fact the door jamb calls it an "A" code transmission. Dealer verifies it as a 4r70w and the replacement has to be either an '04 or an '05 4r70w. This transmission was used in other vehicles as well during those years and I've found a few that are fairly affordable. So, my question is, can I use a 4r70w out of another style vehicle of that year (Crown Vic, Mustang, Explorer, etc.) or are there distinct differences between the models that i should be aware of? Been a long day and I would be speaking to the service dept. but they have gone home locally. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

2005 and newer transmissions have a TSS sensor (turbine speed sensor) 2004 and older transmissions do not have this sensor. Some 2004 transmission cases are machined for the sensor, but have a plug over the hole where the sensor is supposed to go.

2005-2008 2wd F-series truck OR E-series van transmission will be a direct bolt in.

2005-2008 crown vic (non-police) or mercury grand marquis transmission will also bolt in, but you will need to drop the pan and swap the shift lever.

crown vic police car and town car have a longer tail shaft, they will bolt in but may cause problems with the drive shaft.

Thanks for the reply. I'll look into that this weekend. My truck has been weird so far and has things it shouldn't have, based on what I've read. So it's as simple as a shift lever? I'm blown away.
