i would go get them checked, unless you have a "lazer thermometer" and can check them yourself. i would bet they're nearly plugged. get them checked before you do damage to your motor.

Ok I talked to my buddys dad and he's head parts guy at the local ford dealership and for my truck at least I know of there's an extended fuel injector warranty to 120K and if the leaky injector caused which it did damage to the catalyist system its all covered and is free!!! Might be something to look into for everyone

Glad to hear it. I wasn't as lucky with mine. Still battling issues with the timing. My cats being plugged caused a slew of other problems because I let it go too long. I have had to replace the cam phasers as well. Only one was really bad. Now the passenger side bank wont retard the timing on the phaser after the cam advances. Something is plugged up. I flushed it twice with seafoam, time to try something stronger.

i do love reviving old threads when i get the chance!

ok, my truck (2004, SCREW, 5.4) is suffering all the same problems listed above..Cyln3 missfire, lean bank 1, no pull at 55 to 70....except one difference...i dont have any CATs on my truck. anyone have any ideas what could be causing my issue?

the truck has done 122k but at 108k it suffered from broken timing guides which screwed with the timing so while i had the truck apart i replaced: cam phasers, guides, tensioners, chain, crank gear, water pump, oil pump, plugs and COPs. last week i heard a rattling so i opened it all up again and found 3 of the timing guides broken (cheap aftermarket ones) so again i replaced all the guides with motorcraft ones.

i also suffer from a terrible rattle during a cold start (which was believed to be the guides/tensioners)
