Default Can I hook heated seats to the rear aux outlet?

I bought a nice set of leather seats for my F150 and they have the aftermarket heated seats. Can I run power off the Aux outlet that goes to the back seat for the heated seats? Does anyone know how many amps are at this outlet? I'll never use the outlet anyway. Thanks!

For max amperage for any circuit, check your book or fuse panel. Why couldn't you run a separate power from the fuse panel (or battery) instead of wiring it into the 12V cig plug? That plug is live even if the truck is off... I would wire in a relay so your seats can only be on when the truck is running.

I just figured the wire was there and close - but I do want to switched. I searched in town for an add a fuse to hook into the fuse block but no one has one.

Did you try OReileys, NAPA, etc? I got an add-a-fuse from Advance Auto, I think I paid $1 or so. They should be able to sell you a switch you can mount someplace (maybe right next to the cig lighter on the dash)

Yeah - I went to both here in Newton and they had never heard of add a fuse! Go figure - maybe I'll get to Des Moines and find one there.
