Default 2004 FX4 Overdrive button doesn't work

About to go on a pretty long trip, towing a TT- and I have one thing left to fix before I head out. My OD button actually does nothing at all, it's not stuck, it just does nothing.

I had my local transmission shop take a look at the transmission to see if it was possibly the snap ring or something- and it wasn't, transmission is 100% fine. Any other ideas? Does OD have anything to do with cruise control, because cruise only works 1/2 the time as it is...

Thanks team

Fx4 you say, do you have the centre console with the transmission shifter down there? I've had it where a drink spilled and cooked my od button!

If your cruise is being finicky, you should check out your brake lights.... namely your 3rd.

Would this hinder overdrive? I'm not overly concerned with cruise control, just if it was tied in to the same system.

I don't think it would.
