when i select the defroster and turn the fan on high, i have low airflow through the the defrost vents, and high airflow through the ac vents.....the defrost vents airflow is still low when i close the ac vents, but you can hear it working hard behind the dash console.....anyone else have this problem, or know what the problem is and the solution?

 

Sounds like a damper problem - either a damper is broken / bound-up, or the actuator isn't working.

If you are the type to do your own wrenching - suggest strongly to get a shop manual - Chiltons, Haynes, Motor, etc. These should have the HVAC control system pictured.

 

thanks....just purchased a haynes manual on ebay......gotta get this fixed before the snow flys!
