Default 2004 fx4 cruise control

Having a problem with cruise control. Hasn't worked since I bought the truck. 2004 f150 fx4 with floor shifter. Will not shift out of park without pushing brake pedal. Third brake light does work but does have an led bulb in it but regular bulbs in other brake lights. Cruise control buttons on steering wheel light up so I'm guessing they are getting power. Any help? Thanks.

Put a standard incandescent bulb (I believe it's either 912 or 921) in your third brake light and see if that fixes it.

LEDs can only be used in the TBL with the use of a resistor. The TBL and cruise control are tied together. If the TBL isn't working, you lose cruise control.

Yes. You are correct. That is normal. That's why I mentioned it to eliminate that being s problem.

I changed out the led and cruise still is not working. No dash lights showing the cruise is on. The shifter switch is good being I have toppers the brake to shift out of park. Guess the next step is changing out the brake switch unless anyone has anymore ideas.

I'm in a similar circumstance. No CC and my light doesn't even come on when I start the truck. Did anything work for you? Have you tried the cruise control deactivation switch? I'm having trouble finding it - heard it was on the master cylinder.

Also, can anyone confirm if the Cruise Control light comes on for them during the engine start? This would make my troubleshooting a lot easier.

My CC light on gage cluster does not come on at start up or when I try and use it. Lights on buttons illuminate on steering wheel. Fuses all good. No led lights installed on truck. I also could not see a sensor on master cylinder. 2004 f150 FX4 with center console shift.
