Question 2004 ford f150 Lariat codes...

Hello, I've seen very positive outcome in these forums. After reading some of them, It looks like maybe all of you can help me on a situation on my 2004 f150 Lariat. It's shaking at startup and when driving it's like misfiring. The codes I have are P0300,P0305,P0306,P0307,P0316,P2198,P0171,P0222. It's indicating that i have more than one cylinder misfire, I was thinking maybe the sparkplugs or cables but what I don't understand why 3 at the same time. Could it be it's one component that's causing my problem. Oh by the way it only has 68,000 miles. Can anyone help..

There are definitely some injector problems out there. Mine started out as a misfire problem which usually smoothed out. The last time it ran rough, it was very rough to the point of rattling things in the door pockets. If it does this I recommend not driving it and get it to a garage. The injectors get stuck open or closed.

Maybe this will help. I found this in yahoo answers. This information along with the help of this forum got my engine replaced by Ford. My engine locked up after my injector got stuck open.

Yours may not be this extreme but it is good to know not to ignore it.

When I start the vehicle it vibrates horribly and when I go to accelerate it starts "coughing and vibrating and feels like the vehicle is going to die, then it starts smoking out of the tail pipe and the emmissions light is blinking???? What do you think the problem is???

In addition to U_JS_LOST's post, there is actually a Field Service Action released by Ford that covers exclusively 2005 model year F-150s equipped with the 5.4L 3-valve engine, that extends warranty coverage for the fuel injectors for 11 years/120,000 miles. The best course of action is to take it to the Ford dealer and request to have your VIN run through OASIS to see if this particular Field Service Action is open on your vehicle. The FSA number is 07M08 by the way. Hope this helps.

Thanks very much GallatinTN2005F150, I redid the codes to double check that I was getting the right faults. I came up with these faults P0300,P0305,P0306,P0307.P0308. Looks like they are all cylinder misfires, and I think P0300 is random misfires. The symptoms that I have are, I start it up then it start to shake, when I drive it being cautious it also shakes but no smoke comes out of the tail pipe. But my engine light does come on then it starts to flash alternating. One thing that i did notice it did give me a light rotten egg odor real light maybe it was just me...GallatinTN2005F150 that response that you gave me earlier does it cover for 2004 also...
