Rock stars are popular because they look good . I'm thinking strongly of putting a set on my truck. I like they way they look and have seen them on trucks similar to mine so I know what they will look like I beforehand. They are also pretty reasonably priced. I haven't gotten a real up close look at them though. I'm curious as to the quality of the center caps etc....

I think your truck looks awesome. Black is too hard to keep clean where I live, I've had them and its just too much work. But nothing looks better than a clean black truck.

I'm not a fan of the chrome door handles but they do look better than the black ones when they get all sun faded. I just replaced all the outside plastic on my truck with new ford parts and it wasn't cheap. Looks way better though and will help me put off buying a new truck for a while, I hope. I like this body style better and just can't swallow the price of the new ones.

I love my stock 17" rims but hate my tires. I like more tire with less rim so 17's and 18's are my favorite. My crappy tires bust loose in wet weather all the time so I can't imagine running them in the ice and snow this winter.
How did the powder coat work out? Was it durable?
I'm thinking of powder coating the OEMs. I'm seeing they will be $100/wheel.

Mine are 20", unfortunately. I wish mines were 18's, but I don't want to spend money for new wheels and new tires.

I'm going to be trying out TUF Shine on the black bits and the tires. They supposedly bring the black back and it stays for a long long time. It was suggested in the "Detailing" section by one of the pro's. Hopefully I can get that on this weekend.

The only black plastic I have on the Lariat is on the bumper and around windows.

yep, that's why i'll rock the stocks with bigger tires for a clean look and won't look like the other truck next to me on the road that over payed to play.

nonetheless, nice truck and what matters is that you think it's the sh*t after spending your hard earned $$$$$$.
Over payed to play? thats why you're rocking stocks-so you dont look like the other trucks on the road? 80% of the trucks on the road have stock wheels... you'll look like more trucks out there than us that have the very popular XD rims.... if you cant pay to play, then shut it! or at least put up a viable argument...

The handles look okay since your F-150 emblem is chrome and you have chrome accents on your wheels too. I wouldn't purchase new handles if you were to go black, just find somebody with an XLT with black handles and do a side by side swap but it's a PITA.

I can easily afford it and I make good money. It's a choice, pay a bunch of money to look like a lot of others with XD's and other TOO popular choiced wheels or mod my truck with stock rims which I really happen to like the ones on my rig. It's a choice by taste, not budget and I won't look like 80% of other stocks because mine won't be "stock" for long.

I've been customizing my vehicles for as long as I can remember owning them and the past few years I've been sticking with stocks. Why? Because some auto makers are actually making attractive looking aluminum wheels these days. That's my viable opinion, you can argue and lose because it's all based on opinion (not fact) and you can't win that. BIGDAWG? More like BigMouth.

Powder coat held up well, had a semi-gloss black finish which I wish was more of a matte (flat) black. I drove them in the winter with ice and snow and de-icer and it never messed up the finish. Very scratch resistant and well done. For the $ i guess it's worth it but when I got a second set of wheels for my truck I rattle canned them matte black with high temp engine paint and liked it and got a lot of compliments on them because I did a decent job painting them and rattle cans actually have better spraying tips these days than they used to. The atomization is quite good so as long as you apply it in light coats and have patience people will think you powder coated them and it's really easy to re-apply if down the road you need to touch it up.

The rockstars look good man but like someone else I also like the stock rims which I've always liked all Fx4 rims but I wouldn't mind getting some of the new camo rockstar 2's now those things are badass.

As for the chrome I'd say get rid of it all but that's just my opinion !
