2004 f150 xlt 5.4 cam phasers on wrong sides
Hello everybody I traded for a 2004 f150 with the 5.4 3v and owner said he thought the timeing was off.pulled valve covers and timeing cover,And found new phasers, oil pump, guides, chains, tensioners.
tensioners are on right ---passanger side tensioner right. Drivers side is left
now cam phasers on wrong right Drivers side and left phaser on passenger side.
I checked timing it was good marks lined up.

I think I just have to switch phasers around and be good to go.how would I check the camshaft and make sure they did not switch them to?
engine ran with no noises but no power--

There is no "right" or "left" phaser they are the same. They have timing markings for each side. Not sure if you were trying to post pictures but they did not load.

@killer454 *CAUTION* Before you start changing things, take @06 F150's advice and read S_Vares thread and get a good understanding of the VVT system.
As it happens - the timing marks will line up occasionally on TDC of both the compression stroke and again at TDC straddling the conclusion of the exhaust and beginning of the intake strokes. In the LATER case - the phasers are lined up with "R" on the DRIVER'S (left) side and "L" on the PASSENGER'S (right) side - but it is still in time.
TWO important things - First you apparently stumbled upon one of them. You mentioned marks lined up. You are very lucky (or perhaps unlucky, depending on how you look at it). THAT doesn't happen VERY often. Once lined up - if you turn the engine over, the colored links will NOT align again for 122 crankshaft revolutions. The exception to that is - at 61 revolutions the marks will line up as you have described - with the "R" phaser lined up on the DRIVER'S (left) and the "L" phaser on the PASSENGER'S (right) side. This would be NORMAL. Do not remove phasers because of this. In fact you would probably screw stuff up good if you did. The Cams have an alignment pin that fits in the back of the Phaser and they will ONLY go one way. To swap them the way you are talking, you would HAVE to rotate the cams - An absolute NO- NO with chains removed!!!
Please - study up on this before proceeding.
