So this morning I started having intermittent speedometer issues. Transmission starts shifting hard, ect. I've read where you can put the truck into HEC engineering test mode but everything I've seen has a button on the cluster and mine has the message center. Does anyone know how to get the Lariat into HEC test mode? Or have any idea what's going on? It's driving me nuts!!!!

Yup. Went through about four YouTube vids and 2 pages of search topics .

The HEC test that I can do on mine uses the Trip reset button. You hold it down, then while holding it down, turn the key on, wait until the displays says "Test" and release the button then each time you press the button, the next page is displayed. When it gets to the DTC area, those are the codes. If you cannot get it to the HEC mode because of you have the message center, I would just go to Autozone or another local parts store and see if they can run the diagnostics. I had to do this with my wife's expedition as well because she has the message center and found out that it had a transmission error code. Good luck, let us know what you find out.
