Ok so why does the stuff always break when there's no one to fix it?? Ugh!
My 2004 F150 cranks for days but wont turn over. Had it checked and its showing the Code 13 thingy... which is like speaking a foreign language to this ol girl. Have a Camaro and it did same thing and a friend bypassed the security sysyem by wiring an additional ignition and simply shutting the security off. Keep in mind that Im niw living 4 hrs away from any mechanics u would feel comfortable asking... anyine have any ideas?? ,Thx

Where exactly are you coming up with a code 13? Your truck has a 4 digit alphanumeric combination such as P0123 in that format for fault codes. Need a code reader to get the exact code.

It's probably your FPDM, take down your spare tire look up on the cross member you will see it. Take it off and see if it's corroded, probably is

He just told me how the code thingy works... something about the check engine light flashing once then 3 times... its all foreign to me... my purse is sad already... have a feelung this is gonna hurt... any ideas?

Well unfortunately you are at the mercy of the electronics that make your truck work, do you have an Android smart phone? If so you can download an app called Torque pro along with an obdII dongle for retrieving system codes off Amazon.

If it is a code 13, that would translate to a P0013, or a passenger side Camshaft Position Actuator failure (Bank 1).


Possible: Variable Camshaft Timing solenoid open or shorted; check for disconnected, broken, or shorted wires at its plug.
