I believe 2007 and newer have the one piece plugs. It was the '04 and '05 that got the two piece plugs.

Use the search feature and you'll find the thread with all the info about the build dates of the engine, not the model year to determine your plug style. Brown coil boots also mean the plugs are the updated style but go by the date printed on the sticker on the driver side cam/valve cover...

Ok now another question. I know there is a lot of opinions out there but what plugs do you recommend? Price per plug is no big deal.

Default 2004 F150 Plug Replacement

I just replaced the transmission on my 2004 F150 (104K miles), and as soon as I drove out of the service pit, began running mushy. Had diagnostic done on it, thought they had added transmission fluid somehow--nope, bad plug/bad coil--Ford wanted $1400 to replace plugs/ignition coil and run "magic" fluid through fuel system. Told them to replace the bad plug/coil--I'll figure out the rest--trade in is about 8-9K--I'll have 6K in repairs at the rate I'm going.

Why not do the simple repairs yourself and save getting raped on labor?
