Default I filed complaint with Channel 5 and Ford Corp.

Ford Motor CompanyMain Topic: VehicleServiceIssuesEmail Questions: This was sent to: 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS is Fighting for You. I just took my 2004 F150 VIN# 1FTPX14574KA57845 to a local Ford dealer on Monday for a spark plug replacement at 88,000 miles, being well aware of the known spark plug design issue that FORD fails to address or fix. One spark plug broke off on each side of the motor ,resulting in both heads having to be removed from motor. The total cost now to replace my 8 spark plugs is now $2600. Of course FORD will not cover any of the cost, but the dealer was nice enough to discount some of the labor cost. This is another example of a US corporation that fails to address its customer satisfaction issues, causing Americans to buy foreign built vehicles. I hope you can make this well know design issue available to the general public, you can find many comments about this on the WEB.Ford does not want to admit plugs should be changed at a sooner interval.I will never buy another FORD truck.

Thats par for the "IT'S NOT FAULT" world we live in. I have seen the same letters sent from Toyota, Honda, and other companies. What I don't get is why a Ford repair center has to remove the heads and others like Troyers Performance and a friend of mine can get the broken plugs out without head removal. It is a design flaw that should be corrected and anoyone with the problem under 100,000 miles should be taken care of for free!

Just got my '05 and I am really starting to worry about this plug issue.... I know the ford dealer here said they have some Nickle type anti-sieze they use if they get them out. Now I wonder that my truck has 82k that it maybe to late.

Default Brisk plugs

Approaching 70k on my 06. It's time to get real serious about this plug issue. I don't want to push it too far. Try as I may, I just can't come up with the Brisk plugs I hear about. Their site doesn't help at all. Anyone have a phone number or website that lists them?

Default Brisk

Thanks Harm. I tried that a few weeks back and didn't get a reply. I just gave it another attempt.

Default Brisk plugs

After sending them my cell # with the email this afternoon they finally got back to me. The Brisk plug # for my 06 is 3VR14S. They're about $18.00 each. The Brisk rep told me that now Ford is saying that the plugs shouldn't be left in for over 25k miles. The same procedure still applies to removing them. They recommend using Aerokroil to free them up. Rumor has it that Ford redesigned the heads in March to resolve future problems. A tad late, wouldn't you say?
