2004 f150 5.4 have injector pulse but no spark
heres the run down. customer broke down on hwy and was towed to shop. no start. i check it out and i am getting no spark. customer swapped crank sensor before he had it towed, so sensor is new. when i crank the engine and i am watching on my scanner it says sync "yes", i unplug crank sensor and it says no. so that tells me that it is reading the sensor correct? only code i could ever get out of it was in koeo self test, kept coming back as internal rom error or fault so i figured ecm. well i got different ecm and got it programmed and the key done and now same thing without the internal rom fault. i have power to the coils but not getting ground signal from ecm, what am i missing?

thanks for the reply
a lil more info. customer tells me that plugs, phasers, #1 lifter and timing done two months ago. running fine until just died one day. driver side has 120 psi all the way down that side, passenger side first two have nothing. cant get rubber tipped gauge in back two no clearance so dont know the reading for them. but if the timing was off on that side would the sync still say yes????????

But to OP, am I hearing you right when you say no compression on the front cylinders on passenger side? Front cylinder pass side is cylinder 1 which you said they replaced the lifter on.

yes indeed, cyl #1. gonna pull valve cover off and take a look. but should my scanner still say the sync is good if timing is off? i checked #1 and #2 and no compression, cant get gauge into other two. i dont have the 16mm adapter

Timing has to be off... you said it was back firing.. I think the work done a couple months ago went south...
