06' Ocassionally attempts to Stall..???
Hello,
My lady and I have had an 06 F150 for about 8 months now and this truck has run well. We have properly maintained the truck. Just the other evening after driving for approx. 30 mins in 70 degree weather I was pulling into the parking lot at a local restaraunt when the truck began to struggle to maintain idle. The engine seemed to be fuel defficient and was not responding to my throttling. The truck shortly after regained its fuel and has not had another issue until just today when the same issue came about. Again this only comes on for about 5 seconds before it self corrects. I have done very little reading but have had a previous similar issue with a Mass airflow sensor on my silverado. I have also read some posts regarding high idling connected with an idle air control valve. I am a diesel man and rarely mess with gas engines so any help diagnosing this problem would be of great help to my shallow pockets.

If you think it is a fuel problem check for a clogged fuel filter. I know the older Fords had problems with clogged fuel filters. Maybe try running some Seafoam in your gas tank too.

If it is a 5.4 it should say it either on the badge or writin somewhere under the hood. The MAF is in a differnt place on the 5.4 than the 4.6. But on both of them it should be pluged in to the air box or intake. Their is a special MAF cleaner that you will need to buy from your local auto parts store. There is a great step by step article on the 2nd or 3rd page in the how to section on this site.
