2004 5.4 F150 with Rough Idle
#11
Got the plugs replaced. 6 out of 8 broke, which was lovely to extract. Also, in the process of removing plugs I somehow managed to break the canister purge solenoid that sits on the drivers side firewall.
Anyways - truck is running slightly better, but still idles a little rough. After replacing the canister purge solenoid I am finally getting a CEL. However this one indicates the part I broke off and recently replaced! P0443 is the error code I'm getting now. Again nothing on any misfires or timing related. And I think this one is happening because the new part may be faulty. When I installed I connected both vacuum lines and electrical. Pretty hard to screw that up. I am looking for any ideas....
Thanks,

After installing the correct canister purge solenoid I got the CEL to go off. I also changed the fuel filter. Truck still idles a little rough, but again no CEL are on.
Should I just run it till one comes on?
Thanks

Try running thicker oil to see if the higher oil pressure will smooth out the idle
