Default (2004, 4.6, E-150) left ignition "ON" overnight and now wont start.

Last weekend i replaced the coolant temp sender and that prob seems to be fixed (no more check engine light). However I seem to have created another problem. It started fine for maybe five starts after the sender replacement. Now it will start only if jumped. During the temp sender replacement i mistakenly left the Ignition in the forward "ON" position overnight. I had the battery checked by Pep Boys and they said it was a good battery. Ive checked the electrical connections i took apart during the sender replacement and all seems ok to me. I did read that leaving the key in "ON" position for prolonged period is bad, but nothing was specified as to what that would harm. To me it seems that the battery is not taking a charge. what may have been ruined by leaving ignition :"ON" overnight? Please help...thank you very much

Battery is shot. Got an extra car or a friend with a known good battery? Swap it out and see if that changes anything.

The problem with battery tests is they often don't check the draw. A battery can hold a surface charge and appear good, but it may not provide enough amps/voltage to turn the starter. It's a huge draw on the battery when trying to start an engine.

Default Lead acid battery bad

They never really recover when you draw them all the way down . Load check the battery not open circuit voltage test .
