Default 2 fords nearly same problem

Well as it says two trucks started having almost the same problem. 1 about a week ago in riding with my farther in law in his work truck and he started to merge into traffic and pow truck started missing and shuttering it felt and sounded horrible pulled over popped the hood and saw the number 6 cylinder plug and coil sitting on the motor blew it out of the cylinder never seen this in a car that wasn't a dragster. Fast forward to yesterday I'm driving down the highway and my truck starts to miss check engine light came on and I was like o s**t this won't be good came home read the code misfire on cylinder 7. Fairly new coils and plugs 37k and change so I pull out the coil it seemed fine so I pulled out the plug too and saw that the electrode was broken. Now both trucks have 5.4 in them but my father in laws is a 10 and mine is a 04 so do yall have any input as to y this would've happened to either one of them so we can prevent it in the future if possible

Not sure about yours but on your dad's maybe it wasn't torqued to the right specs by the person that installed the plugs. The 2010s have the newer heads that are supposed to prevent the plug shooting out, it has more threads than the 2004s I believe. I have an 04 and I checked my torque a few months ago and all were correct, do you have any additional noise, like phaser noise. When the plugs are loose on ours, the engine makes a noise like phasers or exhaust manifold noises. You usually will smell fuel in the passenger compartment. What kind of plugs are you guys using? Motorcraft SP515 is the way to go.
