2.5" HBS Level...creaking/bumping?
Hello all,
I have a HBS 2.5" level installed, just done today. The driver's side wheel area is making a creaking noise, and possibly clanking. It was installed correctly. Is the stress causing the noise?

I bet it's the upper control arm ! Those spacers in the front help with lift but after 2 years of having my 2.5" level lift I took it off and out on a real 6" rough country suspension kit.

Why are you suggesting the UCA would make noise with a level but not without?
OP
A level can and will highlight an existing issue. Did you check the entire front end prior to the instal? Who performed the instal?

No I did not check it. There haven't been any problems prior that I know of, so I did not think to have it checked.
It was installed by a friend who installs levels and lifts

As long as everything is tight the creaking is usually ball joints. I've been running the same HBS level for over 5 years and never had the clanking sound but over the last year the creak has developed so I know the truck will need Upper Control Arms (because those ball joints aren't replaceable) and lower ball joints soon.Since it's no longer a daily driver it doesn't bother me too much. Look for evidence of the upper control arm contacting the spring or something.
