Is 2.5" exhaust enough when joined by CAI and Tuner?
Ok, so I got the approval from my accountant (wife) to start playing with my truck. What I have in the works is a Rousch CAI, Magnaflow SIDO, and Edge Evolution wich will be sent off to get the Gryphon tunes. I will not be installing any of this until I get all peices.
My question is about the exhaust. I know alot of guys recomend doing exhaust but as alot of us are, I am concernd about sound level. I come home from work at midnight alot or am leaving the house at midnight to go in. I want to keep it rather subdued but have the flow.
If I replace my stock muffler with a 2.5" Magnaflow SIDO, will I not be getting the proper flow that is "most benefitial" for performance when used with a tuner and CAI? I really want to stay away from 3" exhaust just because of the sound increase if at all possible but am willing to get it if that is what will work best in conjunction with the Edge and CAI.

a cut out is basically an inserted piece in your exhaust pipe. its got three holes. inlet, outlet that bypasses muffler and then the third goes to the muffler. its got a valve inside activated by a switch that controls the flow.
it does the same thing as having straight pipes but also lets you "quiet up" when you need to.
if your still lost dont listen to me.

If I go with 3" muffler, can I still do a 2.5" inlet and have a 3" outlet? Is that how most do this or do they change out from the cat back?
