Default 1st time F150 4x4 owner?

OK so i wan't a F150 4x4, eventually lifted.
I've always owned silverado's Tahoe, and i drive a Company Sierra ex cab.
Although good trucks i'm just tired of the same truck .
I've been searching and searching for an affordable F150 4x4 crew cab but have setteled for a super cab due to price. My credit union has an 06 xlt super cab 4x4 with 78k miles for $13-grand. wich is the best price i've found. My question is should i shy away from the mileage or is this mileage some what ok. The truck is clean clean clean. Opinions please.

XLT's either came with the 4.6L or the 5.4L IIRC. To me, 78k doesn't sound that bad but I would check the price against kbb, nada, edmunds, etc as vehicle prices will vary by zip code as well as options. Also it would be a good idea to get a carfax and your local mechanic to check it out before buying any used vehicle. I would also look to see if the plugs have ever been changed if its a 5.4.

as a rule of thumb i live by..................that is not the only truck ford made.

what i mean is dont settle for something, if you think that it may have too many miles on it, pass it up. you'll find another one next week. but if you are satisfied with that one, that is not a bad price for that truck.

That sounds like a deal to me! Just for a comparison, i live in KY, just got an 06 SCREW 5.4 , Leather, 6.5'bed, 44K, certified pre-owned Ford for 21400 out the door., She is clean as a whistle, obviously never hauled anything or been off road, i think i saw some dust on the firewall, lol., She does nada for 25K and is certified so i think i scored!, BUt your offer is definitely a deal.

I have a 2004 with 5.4. Just wondering about the checking to see if plugs have been changed question. Is there some reason good or bad if they have or haven't been changed ?

Plugs tend to break off.

Sounds like a decent deal to me. If your willing to keep looking you might find a better deal.
