The wheel with -12mm offset would stick out further than the wheel with 0mm offset.

Stock offset is around +40 or so on a 7.5 inch wheel. For largest tire fitment without rub you want as close to centered in the wheel well as possible or close to stock wheel specs. I have 8 inch wide wheels +25 offset with 315/70/17 and don't rub anything and also didn't trim. For nine inch wide wheels +35 would be real close to stock. They make that offset in 17s but not sure about 18s. Anything less than that will push the wheels out from the fender eventually leading to rubbing on the back of the wheel wells or the plastic on the front bumper (lower valance). Hope that helps.

Positive stuffs em under the truck more, negative pushes em out further.
With that being said, I'm running 18x9 monsters with a-12 offset and have 295/70r18 trail grapplers. You will have to do some trimming but unless your staring at your wheel wells all the time who cares.

just so i get this right(i dont want to buy anything that wont work) in the pics you have 18x9 and 5" backspace with zero offset? How much did you have to trim to fit with those 295's?

Sorry but a 18x9 will have a 4.5" backspace in order to have a 0mm offset (9" divided by 2 = 4.5" which is the center line of the wheel). An 18x9 with a 5" backspace will have a +13mm offset.
A 18x10 will have a 5" backspace and a 0mm offset.
2.54cm or 25.4mm is equal to 1 inch.

It's dumb that they do it that way but that's how they made it. I was working in Tire Retail for a year thinking it worked the same way as you before I found out differently.

I used to think the same thing bud but you have to add 1" when calculating because the wheel lip is not factored in the width. That is measured from bead to bead. And of course backspacing is measured from the lip. Each lip being .5" which is why there backspacing measurements seem to be .5" off. A -12mm offset 9" wide wheel has a 4.56 backspacing.

Just depends. It's barely a 33" tire and not very wide but that's quite a bit of offset on the wheel. May require a small leveling kit to not rub you fenders.

my truck already had a leveling kit on it when i bought it. im guessing its a 1.5 or 2 inch. It shouldnt be to close to the UCA should it? because the tires that came on it are very close to the UCA?so maybe just a little trimming? i just want something that will give it a little more aggressive look.
