seems like i posted this on another thread here recently... not all aftermkarket 17's will fit your truck... the reason is that steel is thinner than alloy... alloy 17's are made thicker than oem wheels... so there for if you cant get your pinky (small finger) in between the caliper and wheel then you have very little choice on aftermarket wheels...yes they do make that will fit but very few and cost is no cheaper.

No, if fact I have 2 set's of 17's and the original 18 inch wheels. 18" tires were harder to find about 3 year's ago so I went with the 17's.

well Im looking at cost of tires not wheels.....Its not much but its almost 200 dollars difference between the tires im looking at for the comparable sizes for 17vs 18 inch wheels.

believe me i hear ya on the price of tires...wow... i had found a set of saleen 23 inch on ebay... very inexpensive but the tires were 275 apiece for the least expensive ones.. then i look up 20 inch and they get a little cheaper, then 17 inch was at around 125.... i like those prices. My truck came from the factory with michelins on 17 inch wheels and so far i really like the tires....

i have 17's on my truck and i have no problems. as far as tires the bigger the rim the more it costs. which is bs since they take away rubber when u get a bigger rim with the same size tire.
