Ok Ive been searching like crazy and cannot find a very definate answer on this fitment issue....

I ordered 17x9 eagle alloy 197 series wheels....been waiting for them to come in and then today read a post in another thread I had posted in saying that some aftermarket wheels would not fit.....I called discount tire and asked them and they quickly said Oh ya theyll fit done it before....I find this hard to believe being this wheel is new for 09 and not on a f150 ive seen....

anyways dont know if the model makes a difference buts its an 06 fx4 and I was just wondering if there was a definative list of 17 inch wheels that would fit on the 06?

It will fit. 16s won't fit because the calipers are too big.

Im hoping so because Im getting these from the distributor directly and I dont want to have to worry about putting a scratch on them seeing if they will fit and then not be able to even use them.....

One guy who has been a member here for a while said steel 17's would fit but some 17 inch alloys wouldnt because of the thicker material of the aluminum rims....

just got me worried and thinking

As Tide has said, 17's will fit the 06 models and some actually come with 17's. 16's won't fit though because the bigger brakes.

alright thanks guys youve put my mind to rest!!!! I was getting really nervous.

one other question....will pro comp lug nuts fit eagle alloy wheels? I saw on the 4 wheel parts site they have black pro comp lugs and thought they would look really good on the wheels but wasnt sure if there was a standard 60 degree taper on all lugs or if different manufacturers did theirs differently

Lug nuts are lug nuts. It won't matter.

Verify the lug nut types before you buy them. The three styles:

1) Mag
2) Taper
3) Cone

Put the wrong ones on and you will watch your wheels roll by you on the highway...Seriously.

Ok thanks ill check and see what kind they require...I believe it just listed them as acorn so ill check and see what kind they require specifically

They had a problem with some 17" wheel's not clearing the brake's on some '05 truck's. The problem hasen't come up lately so I guess it has been corrected.
