153k Miles on Original Plugs
My truck was handed down to me, so I did not know it's full maintenance history when I got it. With the recent tranny scare I've just had, I decided I'm going to go through my truck top to bottom and see what else I should check. I know the truck has had regular oil changes and the transmission was replaced at 75k miles. I know for a fact now that after all this time my plugs are original. And the throttle body has never been cleaned. I will replace the plugs and clean the throttle body soon. I'm at 153k miles now, and beyond what I've just stated everything is original. What other things should I look at? I'm talking full checklist here, lay it on me.

Check the basics. Brakes, probably needs a fuel filter? Check the FPDM up by the spare tire, check the serpetine belt for cracks and looseness. Just a good look over at the normal wear and tear items

When cleaning the throttle body is it safe to disconnect it and take it off to clean both sides of it? I just don't want to do more damage then good.

Yes, remove it. Helps you clean it better and no risk of the cleaner filling up the intake. Make sure you get throttle body specific cleaner. Carb cleaner can damage the coating on the throttle body.
