I read up on something after I first read this post and in some cases with a 2-12" box you have to procure a seat lift kit. this of course all depends on the brand box you have and if you have shallow mount subs

Are you talking about the subs won't fit in the box cause I had that problem on mine from super crew sound. I used sand paper and sanded it down to where it fit

^^^ i think with 12's a seat lift is required...^^^
Does your box slant downward or is it pretty much squared?

I don't have an aftermarket sub box yet but after reading into this I might be making that investment soon to put in the Memphis 12 I have sitting around

I don't think I need a seat lift kit I don't know anyone with a seat lift for shallow 12s I have a Q power box I believe

I was told when I was box shopping that some boxes were hit or miss when it came to 12s. Some would slide right in and others wouldn't fit so well. I decided to go with tens and get a little nicer subs with the money I saved vs the price of the box and the price of the subs in 12s

Normally when buying a box for our trucks there will be small print that says seat lift required... Main reason i went with 10's...

Your box may require a seat lift.. Boxes that don't are slanted smaller to slide under the seat.. A squared box will only go halfway thus needing a seat lift

Judging by his picture his looks like it's slanted. could just be the angle he took the picture on though. I've never actually seen one for our truck where it's square. All the ones I've seen have been slanted.
