10.0 mpg city 5.4l FX4 Scab. Something wrong?
OK I've had the truck for a few months now. I am methodical with how I track gas mileage.. I always fill the tank, compare mileage with AVIC gps and make my calculations.
I am averaging between 9.8 and 10.8 mpg, all driving is around town and I am easy on the gas. I never accelerate hard
Truck is '05 FX4 Scab with borla exhaust and K&N intake. 5.4l engine with 72k miles
Is something wrong? From everything I have read online I would expect at least 13mpg and perhaps better. If so where should I start?
Tune up? Drive train?

Here is a list of things I have had affect my mpg bad fuel and air filter, bad caliper, hung/ rusted ebreak, bad hub bearing and my new problem IMRC control stuck open or closed can all effect mpg some more then others I would look at plugs from what I'm getting from my relative that works for ford they really don't last much past 60k. All I can say is search the forum there alot of mpg threads with a ton of information on how to improve mpg what I mentioned are a few but the most damaging I have dealt with on my truck
