1.5" wheel adapters-safe?

I had 1" front and 1 1/2" rear billet spacers on a mustang gt and had one problem. The wheel studs started breaking after a year or so. I think that was mostly due to taking the wheels off and on a lot and not torqueing correctly. Ended up upgrading all the studs. If you get them make sure they have high grade studs and torque the lug nuts accordingly. Other than that they were great and I put them through plenty of abuse.

Yes they are safe
I am a ford tech and was thinking this same thing, are they safe? One of the next vehicles I brought into the shop for front brakes was a f-350 dually. And what do ya know?, On every ford dually out there you will find a 6" "Wheel Spacer" on front axle to space the wheels out to where they need to be, FROM THE FACTORY! Given they are cast iron but still. I am currently running 2" alum. wheel spacers on my 04 f150, and have been for a year with no issues. Just use locktite on the inner lug nuts and they are as safe as bolting a wheel to your truck. I purchased my spacers off ebay, seller name is cjbargans. FOR EVERY STORY YOU FIND ABOUT WHEEL SPACERS BREAKING OR FALLING OFF YOU WILL FIND 100 OF PEOPLE BUYING ALUM. RIMS AND THEM FALLING OFF. YOU HAVE TO RETORQUE ALUM. AFTERMARKET WHEELS AFTER 50 MILES OR THE LUGS WILL BACK OFF! PROPER INSTALLATION IS EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a huge thread on this on the 2009 - Present forum. Basically you have to have the correct type, usually custom made (there are some companies that will do this based on your vehicle and wheels). Hub-centric and lug-centric are the terms that come to mind. Basically you want a hub-centric one. Not spending the money on the correct ones is playing dangerously, especially if you have a 4wd and use it. Buddy of mine broke one of his while wheeling.

I am looking to run 1.5"-2" spacers on my 2011 f150. I have 20" custom rims and 33" nit to terra grapplers. I had bought fender flares, but now I feel the tires are too sunken into the trucks profile. It looks nice, but I kno it would look nicer to have them pushed out, at least flush with the fender, which sticks out about 1"-1.5". Can anyone advise me of a reliable brand or website that I could purchase these spacers from?

Chive So Hard
I am running 1.5" spacers and have zero issues with mine. They are billet alluminum and overall very sturdy. I however never thought of putting locktight on mine and I elieve that will be something to do next time I check the torque on the lugnuts.
