08 Recall on Cowl
I received a call from my dealer yesterday about a recall on the cowl that kept popping up on my 08. The plastic cowl that has the wiper fluid exhibitors on it popped up all winter and would never stay in place. There was apparently a recall on it and the replacement part came in yesterday. It took all of 45 minutes and the cowl is once again level and looks uniform. If any of you are experiencing this, there is a replacement part and it was no charge for it. Call you dealer.

I hate to ask but any way you can take a picture of the invoice they gave you (so I can read the text)? I have been battling with my dealer about this thing since I bought this truck. My neighbor's '06, my co-workers' '07 and '08, and my '05 are all doing the same thing.

I just called the wife, and she said that the ticket does not give a number. All it states is that the cowl was repaired under warranty. It gives a labor hour and rate with no charge listed on it. I recommend calling your dealer and letting them know about it, if it is that much of a problem, as it was for me.

Chances are that this is not a recall but a service bulletin that can be done under warranty. This is NOT something that is directly responsible for vehicle safety so it will not be a recall. Common items that need replacement but are not vital to the vehcile are TSB's and once the warranty is out... Sorry about your luck.
I will still call my dealer again about this though.

i just called ford about my '05 with the same problem. they said there is no recall out about that. apparently recalls are only for saftey issues and theres another thing called a TSB or something like that for these kind of issues. im not saying your wrong cuz i know ford dealers are dumbasses sometimes but are you sure this was a recall and not the TSB thing?
