I know nitrous isn't going to make it a speedster. This isn't my first vehicle. The nitrous is more for show than performance but if I want to use it I want to make sure I blow my intake off or burn a hole in the top of my pistons.

Mustang forums will probably be the best place to get the information you're looking for. There just aren't many 4.6 truck performance "packaged" items available. Sadly.

This is true... I've been trying to cross reference, trying to see if they have stroke, lift, hell whether or not, my pistons are forged or cast. I'm pretty confident they are forged. If I can find out exactly how much the engines are alike/different then I can keep from destroying an engine. I had a couple of my mustang buddies inquire on their forums

Your truck, just like any vehicle, can have a significant improvement by adding N2O. I have a significant history with nitrous, and have had both good and not-so-good experiences. Nitrous is like liquor...... Too much, used the wrong way, can be a bad thing.
With your truck being a 4.6 with hyper-eutectic pistons, i would go no more than a 125hp shot. Forged pistons are far more forgiving with lean/ preignition conditions. First things first, make sure you truck is in good mechanical condition. Next choose a nitrous system that will be compatible..... I have made a TON of power using good ole Compucar as well as Nitrous Express systems, or a combination of the two. Be sure to research heat range in spark plugs, as well as plug gap and timing retard. Nitrous isn't just a bolt in and go system ( at least not if you want your engine to last very long). Also, check your local laws to see if it is illegal to have the system hooked up on a local roadway. Around here it was "legal", so long that the nitrous line wasn't attached to the bottle. On the flip side, everything is legal until you get caught.........
I see that you have expressed a concern regarding the wide ratio between 1st and 2nd gear in your trans. Nitrous will increase wear on your trans parts. The best way to combat this is by either a stall converter or by regearing (regearing would be my choice). Of course, a programmer that shortens the shift time would be ideal in extending the life of your transmission. This is just a tidbit of info on Nitrous, and I would be happy to answer any questions that you may have.
Some people see Nitrous as cheating to make horsepower.........but to me, a power adder is a power adder no matter which avenue you take.

Yes, 2* for every 50 hp is accurate/ safe. You'd be happy with the 4.11 gears, especially if you currently have 3.55's...... Yes, i was referring to the rear-end and not the transmission.
I would spray no less than a 100hp shot. I have sprayed a 200 shot through a single NX shark nozzle, but anything over that teeters on the verge of fuel puddling in the intake since the nozzle is in front of the throttle body. Spraying over a 200 shot warrants direct injection into the intake port or via a spraybar plate mounted below/ behind the throttle body.

Thanks for all the help. It's hard finding stuff out about these engines, bc no one has kept them stock and out "bolt on" parts.

All you ever have to do is ask. Send me a PM or email me directly at firehart2@yahoo.com with any more questions. My specialty is the ford power plant and Opal/ Chevrolet Ecotec. I do pushrod, SOHC (2 and 3 valve), and DOHC. Been privately building from stock to WILD for years, and I'd be happy to help with info/ tricks.
