Default 08 F150 headlights

I just bought a 08 F150 XLT and have had it for a week now with less then 200 miles on it.

i want to change out the stock headlights and put a set of Sylvania XtraVision. and at only $20 for a set of 2 I thought this isn't a bad upgrade. (is it?)

Before I bought them I decided to check how to change the headlights and it looks like it is a royal PIA to change them.

From looking at them, it seams to me I have to take the headlight housing out then put the lights in and then reinstall the housing. Is this correct or is there some other way?

If it is what is the best way to take the headlight housing out?

thanks

Should just unbolt with the bolt on the core support for the radiator and one behind the black rubber shield on the side of the headlight closest to the radiator and it will pop right out.

Changing out the headlights is easier than changine the battery. I'm sure you know to NEVER touch the bulb because it will never operate correctly.

Sylvanias are great lights!! Don't expect to get an HID look from a bulb alone. You'll get a whiter lookin' light with the Sylvanias and that's about it and they do save a little on energy.

Yeah I know about the lights, I have the cool blue in my Nissan now and like them a lot. they are brighter then standard lights. I am not looking for the HID lights just something brighter. I live in a small neighborhood and we don't have any street lights It is nice to beable to light the streets up so I can see pets and people that are out and about before they I am right up on them

The only thing I dont like about the Sylvanias is they last for about a year. it is like clock work one will burn out and with in a few days the other will.

I had a pair of the Sylvania Silverstars in my Malibu and they lasted over 2 years. I've heard about the ones that you've mentioned but I didn't know that they didn't last as long as the Silverstars.
