'08 F150 Caliper Slide Pin locations
Help, fellow F150 owners. I'm replacing front brakes, rotors and calipers on my '08 F150 and I noticed after the fact that the caliper slide pins are different. One has a shoulder at the tip with a rubber sleeve/bushing on it and one is just a straight shaft. Can anyone tell me if that should be on the top or bottom location? Ford has been no help and I've talked with 2 different dealer service departments and gotten 2 different answers. I'm guessing they are different for a reason. Does anyone know the proper location of the pins? Thanks

I ran into this question on my kids '04 this past weekend. I couldn't 'feel' a difference when I put the rubber tipped one in the top or bottom of the bracket, so I just took my 50/50 shot. I don't remember which configuration I went with though. When I did the other side, I specifically tried to pay attention to which location each pin came out of, but I think I got myself turned around on top/bottom of the bracket, so I'm not totally sure if I got them back in right.
Again, I couldn't really 'feel' a difference, so unless someone can tell me why it matters, I'm not planning to pull it all back apart to check...
