Default 08 F150 4.2L 5sp manual clutch won't work

When I pump the clutch a couple of times it starts working. Fluid was low in the master cylinder so I filled it up. Don't see any leaks around the master or the hose going to the slave. Bell housing seems to have a little fluid buildup, so I think maybe the slave may have gone out and may be leaking a little? Has worked fine up until about three days ago when I woke up to -4 degree F and it wouldn't shift into any gear.

Based on this I probably need to have the slave replaced and as long as that's happening put in a new clutch set? Truck has about 137k miles on it.

Thanks in advance for any insight/advice into this issue !!!

Yes, if you replace the slave, do the clutch set, the throw out bearing and consider having the flywheel resurfaced. If the clutch has been very smooth, the flywheel may be OK. Now's the time to make sure.

You actually have to separate the engine and trans. to replace the slave cyl.?! Now THATS engineering.

Thanks for your reply Joe! I'm going to do a complete overhaul, replace both master and slave, flywheel, clutch disc, seals, etc ...
