Default 08 f150 with 18' rims and 2.5 leveling kit...tire help

I have an 08 XLT f150 supercrew , i am getting a 2.5 inch ready-lift leveling kit on within the week. im not the smartest person when it comes to tires but i know i good bit. i know that i want larger tires than the ones i have now (275/65/18 BFG rugged trail) but i dont know how large/wide i can or should go. does any one have any advice on tires and sizes. also if anyone can help explain aspect ratio that would be greatly appreciated, thanks for the help

To use your current tire as an example...

Tire width is measured in MM and there are 25.4MM in 1 inch, so you take 275/25.4 and you get a width of 10.83"

The aspect ratio is the height of 1 sidewall and is expressed as a % of width, so 10.83 x .65= 7.0395 x 2 sidewalls= 14.079

You add your 18" rim diameter and you get a tire that's roughly 32.08".

You can also go to the specs page on the Tire Rack if they carry the tire you're looking for. You can run up to a 35" tire with a 2.5" level kit, but the look is personal preference. I run 33's.

You can pretty much run almost any size tire that you want on a given wheel diameter, but there will be more available in certain sizes. It seems like you have the most tires to choose from in sizes 18" and smaller. The only reason you would need a bigger wheel is if you were going with much larger brakes.

Question

Good morining
I am think this has been anwers before in the forum. I am getting a 2.5 level and I am think about going with a 33'' tire , I have seen a 35" tire on some F150, I want old school look, with about a 1-2 " of tire outside the wheel well. But with the price of fuel ouch I would lke too get the most out of what I have. I have been looking at the Pro comp AT and Toyo tires.
My truck isn't drove everyday, just the weekend ands rain days

If your truck is 2WD go with a 33X12.5 and if it's a 4WD go with a 35X12.5.

Please post a pic of it when you get the tires. I'm thinking the exact same thing for my 05 SCrew. I just ordered the readylifts and new RS9000XL's for the rear, magnaflow SISO exhaust, and an Edge tuner. All I need now are the tires and a CAI.

I also have the 18" rims on my 07 SC STX4 . I just wonder if the 325/65r18's will work also? I see alot of 35/12.50's but the Nitto I'm looking at measure 34.68 tall and 13.00 wide.
