Default 07 FX4 Front bumper paint

I bought a 07 with 35,000 miles on it in November of this past year. The truck was clean. Been washing the truck every 3 weeks to keep the salt off it. This past weekend found what seemed to be rock chips on the front bumper. It actually looks like someone took a shotgun to it. I am not sure how the truck could go from clean to chips so quickly. Is this a issue with this year? How would you recommend fixing this? I was thinking about using touch up paint with clear. The only concern there is a bunch of them. I asked a shop for a quote to shoot the bumper only and that would be $400. I was hoping to keep this as budget as possible.

Depends on what you want it to look like. If you're ok with seeing the touch up spots, then just touch it up. If you want it to be unnoticeable, get the whole bumper shot. 400 is not a bad price.

I'd pay the $400 and be done with it, especially if you plan to keep the truck for a while.

I agree that 400 is a good price, but when your eating BB&J all the time 400 is just not in the budget. I was not sure if there was a budget fix besides the touch up.

If the chips aren't rusted in there, just touch up paint and then smooth it out with compound a few days later. That would be the budget fix.

If there is rust you need to sand/primer/paint.

Could be either being an FX4... The OP didn't specify now that you brought up the plastic cover.
