I was right there with ya! actually rebuilt my first car at 13! I leaned so much before going to school! Actually enough to test out of 4 college auto courses and pass all with a B+! I leaned from doing and reading forums like this amazing one we are all on now! Just tinkering and pulling something apart is a way to learn for me makeing sure it gets back together was my parents only concern!

Ppl always say it does, and it doesn't really matter where you get the education from or if the best and most knowledgable people are there to train the students. You get what you take from it, UTI does have a vast number of connections with all kinds of big automotive companies. From collision to industrial machinery, which is where I want to be

Your exactly right! It's what you take and learn from it! Put in what you get out! I always payed attention in class and always asked good questions and if I didn't understand I would have asked! Even if I needed help after class I would go for it! I am really close with my auto shop teacher from high school and he has taught me a lot as well as I have him! Experience on the job and hands on are the best learning methods! Best thing to do it take in all you can and take notes for the stuff you don't grasp right away!

ok since you asked and was nice about it! First off I did all the work myself but a few friends helped with a few things! I pulled the engine and basically rebuilt the whole motor with forged internals, replaced pistons and rings with aluminum pistons and moly rings! Did a port and polish as well as swaped valve spring in heads! Then installed comp cams as well as new phasers! Did the plugs as well and replaced stock coils will full MSD ignition system as well as installed new Cobra 39# injectors in preporation for boost! Disasembled transmission and installed a 2800 stall and built up internals as well as drill bigger passages for firmer shifts! Installed bigger trans pan and cooler (3 quart gain for system). Converted mechanical fan to dual Imperial Electric fans! Installed back in truck and drove about 7-10k miles then put my roush supercharger with intercooler set up in truck and intake to go with! And more stuff but Im sure you get the picture HA! Oh dyno results on all motor after build before boost was 408 hp at tires and boosted at 8psi 543 hp! My set up will hold 22psi and charger with smallest pully hits 15-18 so it good!

Picture of the Engine bay for ya to drool over lol!
Nice...that's a little more than I had in mind for my truck, but glad to know its possible. I figure I will turbo the truck for now and when the motor gives up, then I can build a fresh one with the right internals. And for the engine bay, I've seen it around the forums and there had been a bit of drooling...nice, very nice.

Always fun going to off road park and getting into the throttle and people coming up and asking is its stock and when I open the hood they are like WTF you have ***** bringing that here and playing in the mud with it! Pull up to car shows with the trailer on the truck and mustang in the trailer people hear the wine of the charger and dont expect the truck to be the one with it on it lol! I love the truck and will be keeping it for a while

With a worked up truck like that, you should be proud. I have always done little stiff and sold them, but now that I'm older I really like my truck and plan to keep it for a while...it it turns out half as nice as yours then I'll he happy.

Took me a while to save for all the stuff but I did buy 3 roush supercharger kits at once! 2 for me and one for a friend and we had a hook up at roush so got a heck of a deal! Mustang and truck have same blower for the most part besides 4.6 4v and a 5.4 3v
