Mine does it all the time, from what I've heard its normal. No idea though what is actually making the noise.

My 2006 does the same thing. I think you can change the actuator and lube the blend door somehow to help. Ford did this for me under warranty, but it really only helped for a bit and the noises are back and I'm way outside of warranty now.

well i feel better that i'm not the only one lol. any heater performance issues? i have not seen any? I can deal with the noise as long as the thing works. New to the forum by the way! New ford owner as well. I have always wanted to try one of these trucks. Ive had 3 dodges before this... don't judge me lol. I love this truck so far and bout to switch my wife over to Ford next year.

Its the blend door actuator. Its about 30$ and takes 15 to 45min to change out. Very simple. They updated it about 5 times.

Take out radio, glove box and thing above the glove box then only like 5min to swap out.

Yep, what dereku said. My truck is also a 2007. I replaced my temperature actuator motor for that same noise. It was a fairly easy fix and the actuator is relatively inexpensive.
