This 06 is testing my Ford loyalty

Stopped by my mechanic's shop earlier so he could look at my truck (06 screw 5.4). It suddenly got 'the tick' a week or so ago and has lost low end power. I've been trying to be optimistic that it might be an exhaust leak, or VCT problem, but he described my symptoms and guessed my mileage before I told him just by listening to the tick. Told him I would leave it with him on Monday and he said he would check oil pressure and go from there.
Fingers crossed over the weekend, but expecting the worst. Very disappointed in this truck. In 110K miles I've had more issues than I should considering what this truck cost new, and have diligently maintained oil, trans fluids, filters, etc. 2 pinion seals, fan clutch, 3 COPs, plugs, rattle in the dash, brake rotor, a crappy A/C that no one can make blow cold air, terrible fuel mileage, and now it's looking like phasers/head/valve work.
Loved my truck, but right now it's going on the market after it's repaired.

It's on the passenger side. It comes & goes, but I can't figure where it's coming from. I've learned to live with it. It seems to do it when it's cold, so I'm thinking whatever it is, it's rubber and shrinks when it's dry and cold?

I'm just ticked right now. If this happened at 210K miles, I would fix it and keep riding, but now I'm wondering what's gonna happen next. I really don't want to upgrade and take on a payment with a 15 year old daughter wanting a car in year.
I'm thinking of trying to find 02-03 supercab with relatively low miles, but that may be difficult to find at this point.
I could keep it and go with synthetic oil and motorcraft filter going forward and hope for the best.

If you have been putting crap filters on their since new that could contribute to the cause of your premature timing component failure.
Btw I've been in you're shoes. Although I did not buy mine new I've had all sorts of problems. Within the last year I did a complete timing overhaul, new exhaust manifold, broken spark plugs. Thankfully I was able to do all the work myself and save big money. I too was ready to sell and be done with it. But now it runs awesome and the body is in exceptional shape for a Michigan truck. Best part it's payed for...

That's why I'm upset. If this truck had 200K plus, I'd be fine with it. It's payed for and I intended to keep it for many years and I may still once the initial po'd feeling passes (LOL). I'll know more on Monday. The severity and cost will determine how I proceed.

All trucks have issues. Not Ford's fault the wrong filters were on it.
How about a radiator, alternator, tensioner and idler pulleys, UCAs, tie rods, ball joints, sway bar links, wheel bearing, multiple parts of the IWE system, transfer case motor, fpdm, an oil leak that shows itself every once in a while, a power steering line leak that is the same, and a transmission at 40k. Am I forgetting anything? Probably. Do I still like the truck? Absolutely.
I turn all my own wrenches, so maybe that's why I'm not as upset as you. Saving all that money that a shop would charge for labor, sure makes it a lot easier.
Other trucks have their problems, you just don't hear about it, you're on a Ford forum. Go spend some time on another forum, and you will see its not only the F150 that sucks.
