@cranda

Here's a fun question. How much would you be willing to sell your truck for? I mean not that I'm offering. I'm just curious with all the time and money you've put into it. You've had to put at least 10-15k into that truck?

I don't think I'd sell the truck because I'd never get out of it what I have it it, which goes for any vehicle like this. I'd guess the book value on the truck has to be around $15k tops, if that. If someone offered me something stupid I'd think about it. Bad thing about putting money like this into your vehicle, most likely you won't get it back when selling. It sure is fun to own though.

These pics don't do them much justice. But here ya go. The off-road lights are out of commission as I'm waiting on new relays.

I also just realized I have a halo out on one of the fog lights. I've had bad luck on lights. Either they leak or they break.

It's true, modern vehicles in ample supply "typically" won't yield much if any profit after mods.
However, vintage vehicles, such as muscle cars, classics, and basically any short supply vehicle that isn't made anymore will actually turn a profit. A good one at that too.

Given these fundamentals, it's possible that if you hang on to your truck long enough, like 20 more years, it will actually begin to appreciate in value. But even that will depend on the make, model, and condition of the vehicle, plus any modifications, restorations or updates you make to the vehicle.

If I was a betting man, I'd say our F150 model year will be a more valuable model than the gen before it and the gen after it. The 86 and older f150 and bronco are already pricing in a slight premium, and the early 70's F series trucks are going for some pretty high prices in the right condition or modded...

Yes however it is a hobby. A Fun Hobby. And doing stuff like this usually makes it an even more reliable vehicle.

Although I will say everything I've been doing to my 09 f-150 is just pure bolt on and quick wiring. Nothing that would take forever to get off or need a shop to get something off... I've always thought about trading my truck in next year for a 2011+ with the 5.0. And I'd immediately swap off my rims and tires, head lights, Touch screen radio, etc... Just because I know they wont add much if any value to the truck.

Your truck is certainly one of the coolest I've seen on this part of the forum. If not the coolest I've seen on here.

Your ViN number should have an interior paint code. Take that code to NAPA and they can get that color but in a spray can for you. I was amazed at the color matching. Inexpensive too.
