So I was driving to the store yesterday and I noticed 2nd gear in my ford started to spudder a lil bit. Drove it home fine, but never had to leave 2nd. I take off later and when I hit about 50mph in 3rd then 55 in 4th gear, it starts to bog down. It's like it's going to shut off. My bearings in the ring gear are bad so I don't know if that caused the ring and pinion to go out. My dad had problems with his injectors. What do you think the problem could be? I'm about to rip out the rear diff. And replace the bearings and maybe switch to a 3.73 gear ratio. So problem? Motor or drive train? It does have some vibration when it starts to bog down. Also a loud pop starting off in 1st. I'm thinking motor mounts? Any thoughts or opinions on this?

As techrep pointed out, go back and read your original post, and place yourself in a position as we were; folks here are very helpful, but when a post such as this is made, It is very difficult to understand what was done, how it would reflect the symptoms, and if assistance can even be offered.

Yes, faulty bearings in a differential will cause failure with the ring and pinion; the bearing material will foul up the differential oil quickly.

You're dads problems with his injectors are doubtful to be causing your truck any issues.

Yes, you should service the rear differential ASAP.

Motor or drive train problems? You currently have a drive train problem with your rear differential.

Motor mounts? Doubtful.

You found water in the spark plug. Was that in the plug itself? This would not be good, as that would indicate a head gasket failure. Did you mean some water around the spark plug hole perhaps?

This poster came quickly to mind that would describe that first post:
